radiance of the hand
MILAGROS is a semi-permeable collective cultivated in Florida comprised of mainstays Felici Asteinza, Alvin Fillastre, Evan Galbicka, Jourdan Joly and guest stars.
Milagros stand for work that radiates human dignity and explodes with the vibrancy of life. We communicate these ideas through an intuitive process of assimilating images, lines, colors, words and playing, playing, playing. Milagros strive to make work that is relevant to the pulse of our generation by assuming the role of cultural collagist-- aligning seemingly random images, allowing the viewer to discern their own meaning. Through maximilizing a mainstream aesthetic we seek to disarm it—there are no hierarchies of imagery; all images are equal and work together to form purely democratic art. Milagros are freedom at all times and at all levels of being. The use of cultural references allows us to destroy contemporary icons and exorcise the barrage of advertisements, the smells of fast food, the tangled web of internets and wi-fi radiation, the recognition of self as avatar, and above all the accepted notion of sedentary life.
